Hello, I'm Margaret,
I did not plan to write a book. For the last few years I have been building this site as a place to gather every Kenyan data protection determination and appeal into one searchable home. The database grew, and so did one question, asked over and over by in-house counsel, compliance officers and DPOs across the region: "This is all very interesting, but what do I actually do with it?"
This book is my answer.
It is not a textbook, and it is not a statute commentary. It is the case law itself, read as a working playbook. Real determinations from the ODPC, real appeals from the High Court, each one turned into something you can act on Monday morning. The wins, the losses, the schools and lenders and lodges that learned the hard way, and the practical lesson sitting inside each.
I wrote it for the people doing the work. I hope it saves you some time, and a few mistakes.
Margaret
